High exceptions, reading that you should be to take in something great, Via Linez and HighDEF set nothing but high exceptions for their crafts. With this album it is collaborative mix of songs they have worked on over the past year or so and put it all together to bring you High Expectations.
This album contains some of the greats within Toronto including Via Linez and the group HighDEF, I am very thankful to have gotten a hold of Via Linez and 1/3 of HighDEF, Lyve to be able to ask them the Thght Process questions. Please indulge on the album and the question below.

UTW-Who are you?
Via Linez-They call me Via. In full, Via Linez.
Lyve-My name is Lyve, from Toronto. Scarborough representative.
UTW-What is your passion?
Via Linez-Gaining respect from this rap shit. Noteriety as well. Money is a plus but im gonna eat regardless, believe dat.
Lyve-Creating music is my passion. Everything from producing, to writing, to performing to DJ’ing. I do this.
UTW-What’s your biggest accomplishment to date?
Via Linez-On some REAL shit, finishing school. Most people don’t know I studied Mechanical Engineering. Hammered that shit out after wasting some years in the Rex smokin and drinkin’….but time well wasted working on the craft as well.
Besides that, my biggest accomplishment is still in the works and thats the project im cookin’ up with Lyve. I can feel it in my bones, shit is gonna be epic. Finishing this Met Expectations LP was also a success but it was completed so long ago that momentum kinda faded over some Toronto Radio politics earlier this year. Losing those outlets hurt.
Lyve-Every new song i create is an accomplishment. But overall, making the transition from producer to a well rounded artist, is pretty much up there for me.
UTW-Perseverance is key in proving to yourself AND any detractors out there. We tell em’ “You thought wrong” what else would you like to say to any doubters right now?
Via Linez-I dont think people doubt me. I don’t mean to toot my horn but as an emcee, i think everyone who hears my shit feels that I got what it takes. Especially when they see me rock shows live. The only thing i think people doubt about me is that I wont “blow up” and become some 106/Park star….but they understand that the industry isn’t what it was 15 yrs ago. At least the educated ones, the others think im just not gonna blow cause i aint got bitches and bugatti’s in my videos. Whateves tho. I know i got much more in store and when that tidal wave of opportunity hits, im gonna be the first mo’fo holding a surfboard, ya dig?
Lyve-Oh, you thought i JUST make beats? #YouThoughtWrong
UTW-Thanks for everything, where can people find your work and get in contact with you?
Via Linez-I can’t front, I got twitter but im not really up on it. @ViaLinez is the link tho. Facebook is best for social media. Hit me at Facebook.com/ViaLinez….or just add me!
